This may be a random post but, part of my relaunch process was learning how to rest (go read Part One of Short Lessons with my Relaunch). I am still learning how to rest but, I am learning it is a must and a non-negotiable. Some women are in their "Soft Girl Era;" as for me and myself, I am in my it's REST & REST. I may do a post on erroneous thinking on rest. But, I am in my "Rest Era" and when I feel like a nap, I take it. When I feel like strolling at a bookstore to rest my mind (which helps me think), I do it. Resting can be anything that helps you relax. Resting will recharge you and actually fuel you for forward movement. Slow down, and rest. Find what helps you slow down and trust the resting process.
Do you relax well? What is your rest/relax schedule? And do you have a place that allows you to relax away from the noise, rush and hustle and bustle? For me, one place I love to escape to relax is my bathroom. I have and still remodeling it with the right essentials that adequtley contribute to a balanced, peaceful and restful place for me to relax.
Let's talk about Bathroom Essentials!
Beautiful smells, décor, natural body soaps, candles, body scrubs, tea baths, fresh towels, and more all make up MY bathroom essentials. My bathroom space isn't just for "using the restroom". For me, it's also about finding another place of relaxation and peace. I love to pray in my bathroom. I love to read in my bathroom. I love to soak in MY tub and imagine I'm at a fancy hotel or, just to soak and let my mind destress from the cares of the day!
Let's start with lighting. There are literally, HUNDREDS of bathroom lighting fixtures to choose from. I love a good BRIGHT light fixture as it adds a level of alertness to my bathroom. Vanity bathroom lights are my TOP fave!! Lights are not only for aesthetics but also, to help me FULLY wake up help me to wake UP, especially on days when I am dragging out the bed (I know I'm NOT the only one dragging out the bed, LOL)!
Here is a quick, non-comprehensive look at some of my bathroom essentials. There are more of course BUT, you get the point.
Be sure to enjoy your personal space of escape. You deserve it.
I'd love to see what some of your bathroom essentials include!
